Chantier parfait !

We have been in the Basimakopoulos boat yard 3 times and can honestly say that this is the best yard we have ever used in our 10 years in the Med, the lifting crews are skilled and professional. The yard is secure, the chandler well stocked, and can order what is not stocked, the work we needed to have done was done to our complete satisfaction. Highly recommended, Constant Sprenger s/v Big Sky

This is a great yard, it feels like we have come home when we arrive! The team are extremely professional, efficient, informative, skilled and really nice guys. Communication is good, everyone speaks some English, many of the team speak good English and Evangelos is a fluent speaker who can sort out those tricky technical bits. The partners that the yard work with are also good. We have had engine work, stainless steel, rigging, canvas work and electronics done, all done well, on time, to price. The yard itself is tidy, well kept and clean. Unlike many cats in Greece even the yard cats are well cared for and fed! The village of Kilada is small and friendly with shops. tavernas, a laundry, pharmacy and rooms for rent, all at very reasonable prices. The larger town of Kranidi is just up the road and there is a bus service. We certainly will use them whenever we can and highly recommend them.

We have over-wintered and left our boat for six weeks in the high summer for several years now and can not praise the yard enough. The yard staff are extremely careful with the boat and most co-operative. The office team, especially Evangelos whose English is excellent, are knowledgeable helpful and can provide all boat services. The yard's chandlers is also good stocking a respectable range of products. We would have no hesitation in recommending the yard to any yachtsmen regardless of size of boat.

When we bought Mistral it was already stored at Basimakopoulos Shipyard so in a way the yard chose us rather than us choosing the yard. Since our storage at the yard earlier this year we have sailed widely over the Spring, Summer & Autumn and we've seen many yards. We can now draw the conclusion that the combination of the professional level of service together with very high quality cradles and lifting equipment leave the Basimakopoulos Shipyard easily the highest standard yard we have seen. This view has been confirmed by others we have met who now sail significant distances to be lifted and to have work done Basimakopoulos Shipyard due to its high quality rather than use closer yards. Highly recommended.

Many people can take out boats in several ways. However, being surrounded by professionals that measure up to standards people are used to in North Western Europe, North America and probably Australia and New Zealand is very comforting. Excellent and enthusiastic mechanic (Dimitris), electrician plus (Andreas), superb sailmaking based on passion (Kilada Sails) plus their own wood workers are many reasons to choose B/S Kilada Shipyard now the 3rd year. Plus, being in Kilada gives a family feeling. Now we will put them to the test with steel work so we keep our 36 year old Dutch build schooner in shape.

After 4 happy years Magnet is finally leaving Basimakopoulos Shipyard (unforeseen problems excluded). She arrived with a crook engine unable to get to Malta as intended. Magnet is nearly 50 and she needed some very tender loving care and we needed somewhere we trusted to look after her in the months of our absence. We'd doubted Greece to be the place to do the kind of work we intended refurbished engine, take hull back to bare and coppercoat, new rig, topside and deck painted, new prop and shaft, rewired, re-plumbed, all new stainless on deck, new cap-rails, all wood back to bare and varnished, replace and upgrade all electronics were among the many projects. While we have done much of this work ourselves it would not have been possible without support from Basimakopoulos and their partners particularly Nakis and Aegean Wings and painting by Yacht Painting Specialist. We know from the first phonecall with Evangelos to arrange a place to the moment we arrived when crew were waiting to catch our lines at the time they said they would be, standing by modern well maintained equipment that we were somewhere special. Magnet is now seaworthy and its time to go adventuring. We sincerely thank all at Basimakopoulos for their kindness, care, humour and assistance, you are without a doubt our favourite shipyard in all the world and we have been in a number both small yachts and superyachts and you compete with the best of them, anywhere. Mark and I wish you all the very best for the future and we hope you continue to flourish and achieve all your desires in the future. See you again one day when we've done wandering.

Our yacht, a 40 year old Cheoy Lee Offshore 47, was looking very tired, the teak decking almost devoid of plugs and caulking, and some serious leaks over my bunk! Over the 2015 winter, with some trepidation, we committed to ask Iannis and his team to replace all the decking, which would also involve making a new anchor well hatch and repairing some others. Any fears we had were wholly unfounded. The deck is as good as new, and no leaks! Throughout the whole process we received regular updates and photos of the work as it unfolded. An excellent job, and worth every penny.

Our boat had been damaged during the previous season, and needed repair work to the hull and to have the keel dropped and re-sealed. Yannis and his team did a fantastic job over the European winter, and Evangelos kept us fully appraised of how the work was progressing. They showed genuine professional interest in the outcome of the work they had done, and helped resolve a further problem that was uncovered after the boat was put back in the water, at no additional charge. I strongly recommend this boatyard.
